01 What we collect
- Account details — your name and email address. If you sign in with Apple, Google or Discord, they tell us your name and email; we never see your password.
- Location — your position while you are matching with artists nearby, and the location of a shoot you post. Only while you are using the app, and only if you allow it.
- Photos and video — portfolio work artists upload, and the files delivered to a client.
- Job details and messages — what you post, and what you send in in-app chat.
- Payment records — amounts, dates and status. Payments are processed by Stripe; PixIt never receives or stores your card number or bank details.
02 How we use it
To match clients with artists by distance and availability, to hold and release job payments in escrow, to enforce our community rules (strikes, cancellations, review challenges), and to keep both sides of a booking safe. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or tracking.
In-app chat blocks messages containing phone numbers, email addresses, social handles and links — they never leave the compose box. That keeps bookings, and the protection they carry, inside PixIt.
03 Verification
Verification is currently carried out by a person at PixIt reviewing what you send us, rather than automatically. Until that review happens a profile reads "Verification pending" — we don't claim anything about anyone that hasn't actually been checked.
04 Sharing
We share data only with the two processors that make the service work: Stripe (payments) and Supabase (secure data hosting in London, UK). Artists see the job details and first name of clients who book them; clients see artists' public profiles. Nobody else receives your data unless the law compels us.
05 Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from your profile in the app. No email, no waiting, no retention offer. Your sign-in is destroyed immediately and cannot be recovered.
If you have never booked or worked a shoot, everything goes with it and nothing of you remains. If you have, UK tax law requires us to keep the financial record of that booking for six years — so we strip your name, photo, location, portfolio and profile out of it, leaving a record that is no longer about an identifiable person. At the end of those six years the record goes too.
06 Your rights
UK GDPR applies. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may object to how we use it. Write to us at the address below and we will answer within one month. If our answer doesn't satisfy you, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
