The full picture
PixIt is a UK app that books photographers and videographers on demand. You post a job with a budget from £50, verified creators near your shoot get pinged and accept, you choose the one you want, and your payment is held by the app until your files are delivered. Creators keep 80% of every job.
Step by step
01
Say what you need shot, where, when, and what you'll pay — anything from £50 up. Need someone today? Post a Match Now job. Planning ahead? Post a Planned one. Nothing is charged while you're still deciding.
02
PixIt pings verified photographers and videographers around your shoot. Each one gets 45 seconds to accept or pass, so your list of available creators fills in minutes — not days of unanswered emails.
03
Browse the creators who accepted — each with a portfolio of up to 10 photos and 3 videos — and choose. Only then is your payment taken, and it's held by PixIt, not sent to the creator.
04
Follow your booking live: getting ready, on my way, arrived, in progress. Until you book, creators only see your rough area — your exact address is shared with the one creator you chose, and nobody else.
05
Your creator edits and uploads through the app. Only once your files are delivered does PixIt release the money — the creator keeps 80%, and their payout reaches their bank in 2–5 working days.
Booked the wrong thing? Every booking comes with a 90-second grace window to undo it, free.
Coverage
The closer your shoot, the tighter the search — because someone has to actually get there. Book ahead, and PixIt reaches creators across the country.
| When your shoot starts | Who gets pinged |
|---|---|
| In the next 3 hours | Creators within 10 miles |
| Within 24 hours | Creators within 25 miles |
| Within 3 days | Creators within 60 miles |
| More than 3 days ahead | Creators within 400 miles |
400 miles is effectively the whole of Great Britain — a wedding booked a month out in Glasgow can reach a London creator who's willing to travel for it.
Money
The price you set is the price you pay. PixIt's 20% comes out of the job — never on top of it — and there's no subscription on either side.
Cancellation fees go to the creator whose time you booked — PixIt keeps just 5% of the fee, and the creator's share is capped at £250. While you're still choosing a creator, cancelling costs nothing.
Trust
Yes — PixIt is built so neither side can be left out of pocket. Your money is held by the platform until your files are delivered, every creator is verified before they can take work, and your exact address is only ever shared with the one creator you book — everyone else sees your area to roughly 500 metres. Every stage of the job is tracked in the app, so there's a record of what happened and when. PixIt is operated by Iam The Protagonist Ltd, registered in England & Wales.
Turnaround
Delivery happens inside the app — no WeTransfer links that expire, no chasing over email.
Questions
You set the budget yourself — anything from £50 up to £999,999 — and that's exactly what you pay. There are no booking fees added on top and no subscription. PixIt takes 20% out of the job amount, so the creator keeps 80% of whatever you agreed.
Post a Match Now job and PixIt immediately pings verified creators within 10 miles of your shoot. Each creator has 45 seconds to accept or pass, so within minutes you're looking at real, available people — and a booking can be confirmed the same hour you posted it.
Yes. Your payment is held by PixIt from the moment you book and is only released to the creator after your files are delivered through the app. No cash changes hands, every creator is verified before they can take work, and every stage of the job is tracked.
While you're still choosing a creator, cancelling is free. After booking: more than 24 hours before the shoot is free, 2–24 hours before costs 10%, under 2 hours costs 20%, and mid-shoot costs 30%. Every booking also has a 90-second grace window to undo it entirely.
PixIt works across the whole UK. Last-minute jobs ping creators within 10 miles so someone can genuinely get there, but anything booked more than 3 days ahead reaches creators within 400 miles — so an advance booking anywhere in Great Britain can draw from the full national pool.
Creators keep 80% of every job. The money is held by PixIt during the shoot and released once the files are delivered, then reaches the creator's bank account within 2–5 working days. Cancellation fees also go to the creator — PixIt keeps only 5% of those.
