Money, plainly
There is one fee on PixIt. You set the price of every job yourself — anything from £50 to £999,999 — and PixIt takes 20% out of that price, never on top of it. The creator keeps 80% of every job and 100% of every tip. Joining is free for both sides: no subscriptions, no listing fees, no charge to quote or apply.
For clients
PixIt doesn't price your shoot — you do. Post a brief with the budget that works for you, and verified creators accept it if it suits their rate. The 20% platform fee comes out of the number you typed, so there is never a surprise added at checkout.
Not sure what number to type? What photographers cost in the UK walks through real market rates, and the wedding guide covers the big one.
For creators
PixIt's 20% is the whole cost of being on the platform. There's no monthly plan underneath it, no fee to appear in search, and no paying to contact clients — if you never book a job, you never pay a penny.
The full picture of earning on PixIt — tips, cancellation compensation, job tiers — is in what photographers earn on PixIt.
Cancellations
While you're still browsing creators, cancelling costs nothing, and every booking starts with a 90-second grace window to undo it free. After that, the fee depends on how close to the shoot you are — and it compensates the creator whose time you booked, not the platform.
Cancellation fees go to the creator, less a 5% platform share, with the creator's compensation capped at £250 per booking. The mechanics of the whole flow are in how PixIt works.

Questions
No. PixIt is free to download and free to join for both clients and creators. The only money PixIt ever takes is 20% out of a completed job's price — if no job happens, nobody pays anything.
PixIt takes 20% of each job's price, and it comes out of the budget the client set rather than being added on top. A £200 job costs the client exactly £200, and the creator receives £160. Tips are passed through untouched — creators keep 100% of them.
£50 — that's the floor the app enforces on every job, and there's a ceiling of £999,999. Between those two numbers the budget is entirely yours to set, and creators choose whether to accept it at their rate.
Payment is held by PixIt from the moment a client books. Once the shoot is done and the edited files are delivered through the app, the money is released and reaches the creator's bank account within 2 to 5 working days.
While a client is still choosing a creator, cancelling is free. After booking, a sliding fee applies — from free with more than 24 hours' notice up to 30% mid-shoot — and that fee compensates the creator, less a 5% platform share, capped at £250 per booking.
